++barcel++ Barcel will open a new plant in Mexicali

Mexicali, Baja California,- Barcel, the snacks company, subsidiary of Grupo Bimbo and one of the largest in Mexico, will invest US$6 million in Mexicali to build an industrial complex where they are planning to increase production of their several corn snacks, Manuel Rubio, Chairman of Mexicali Industrial Development Commission, assured.

He added that the new Barcel plant will mainly serve Mexico northeast and California markets, where there is great demand for their products, especially in the Spanish-American market in Los Angeles area.

“Barcel is another example of the importance of investment by domestic companies, as is the investment made by La Moderna in 2009. Companies from central Mexico have approached us, interested in establishing production centers to serve the markets in this region”, Rubio added.
