Tamaulipas invests US$7.1 million in infrastructure equipment

The Tamaulipas state government invested US$7.1 million in the purchase of patrol cars, heavy machinery, administrative vehicles, video surveillance equipment, garbage collection units, and a rescue airboat, which will be distributed among the departments of Public Safety, Public Works, Finance, and Civil Protection, as well as the municipal governments of Victoria and Tampico.

The Department of Public Safety received equipment valued at US$4 million, consisting of 17 patrol cars for the State Guard and State Traffic Police, as well as two mobile video surveillance towers with a six-meter-high telescopic system capable of expanding monitoring coverage in urban areas and on highways.

In second place was the Department of Public Works, which acquired machinery worth US$2.4 million, consisting of two motor graders, two backhoes, two CASE 2050M crawler tractors, and two 57 HP New Holland L320 skid-steer loaders, intended for maintenance work, road rehabilitation, drain cleaning, and emergency response.

The equipment delivered also included an Air Ranger 2025 aeroboat for the State Civil Protection Coordination Office, a specialized unit for operations in flooded areas, wetlands, lagoons, and shallow bodies of water, used in rescue operations and responses to hydrometeorological emergencies.

The announced investment focuses resources on strategic areas for government operations, primarily public safety, infrastructure, civil protection, tax collection, and public services—sectors that accounted for the entire US$7.1 million allocated for new state and municipal equipment.
