US$4 million to improve logistics at the Port of Manzanillo

Hutchison Ports TIMSA invested US$4 million in the addition of two new electric rubber-tyred gantry cranes (e-RTGs) to strengthen the infrastructure and operational capacity of its terminal at the Port of Manzanillo.
The investment is part of the ongoing expansion and modernization process being driven by Hutchison Ports TIMSA to offer more agile and reliable logistics solutions that are aligned with international port industry standards.
Jaime Andres Garcia Lopez, general manager of Hutchison Ports TIMSA, emphasized that the infrastructure upgrade addresses the need to maintain logistics competitiveness through the incorporation of state-of-the-art technology.
“We continue to invest in infrastructure and technology because we know that logistics competitiveness depends on having increasingly efficient, safe, and sustainable equipment. These new cranes will strengthen our operational capacity and allow us to continue offering a reliable, world-class service to our customers,” he said.
The addition of the new cranes also complements other expansion projects being carried out by the terminal in Manzanillo, including the operation of a new outdoor yard designed to increase logistics capacity and optimize container flow.
