USI invests US$82 million in its second plant in Jalisco
GUADALAJARA, JAL - With an investment of US$82 million, the electronics manufacturing company Universal Scientific Industrial (USI Mexico), inaugurated its second plant in Tonala, Jalisco.
The company, which will generate 3,000 jobs, specializes in the development and manufacture of electronic products for applications in different industries such as automotive, consumer electronics and communications.
“Tonalá represents a fundamental step in our North American operations, allowing us to improve our service capabilities and better meet the needs of our customers in this dynamic market,” said Matthew Behringer, general manager of the company's North American operations.
“As a responsible member of our Sustainable Business Alliance for Corporate Social Responsibility, USI prioritizes the Sustainable Development Goals through four key strategies: low carbon, circular and collaborative economy, and inclusion,” said Clement Chen, representing USI Corporate.
“Manufacturing, quality work, talent and the union of the triple helix work so that more companies like USI, which have placed their trust in the state, can continue to grow, expand and generate new opportunities in our entity,” said the head of the Secretariat of Economic Development (Sedeco), Roberto Arechederra.
