VEMO opens three new charging hubs

VEMO announces the opening of three new charging hubs in Mexico City as part of its strategy to expand the infrastructure supporting the growth of electric mobility in the country. With this expansion, the company has added 69 chargers and 137 additional connectors, bringing the total number of operational charging points in its Anchored Hubs network in the capital to 325.

The new facilities will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and are located in areas with high vehicle traffic: Aeropuerto, Las Aguilas, and Mixcoac.

Currently, VEMO’s charging network comprises more than 1,950 connectors distributed across 18 states in the country and processes over 110,000 charging sessions monthly, establishing itself as one of Mexico’s leading electromobility infrastructures.

The company also reported that by 2030 it plans to deploy nearly 23,000 connectors in public and private networks, in addition to incorporating approximately 55,000 electric vehicles into its ecosystem. To achieve these goals, it plans to invest more than US$1.5 billion over the next five years.

The growth of the charging infrastructure is occurring against a backdrop of expansion in the electrified vehicle market. According to the Electro Movilidad Association, sales of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles recorded annual growth of 38.5% by the end of 2025, while the public charging network increased by 22% over the same period.

The opening of new hubs in Mexico City aims to meet the growing demand from electric vehicle users and strengthen the conditions necessary for the development of low-emission mobility in one of the country’s major metropolitan areas.
