After seven years manufacturing the Jetta A6 at its Puebla facility, Volkswagen prepares to cease production of the current model to pave the way for the new version of which two units are already built daily to test reliability of the product and make proper adjustments to the assembly line.
The German automaker plans to launch the all-new Jetta in early 2018, according to company officials.
Along with the new Jetta, VW currently builds the last test units of the all-new Tiguan long-wheelbase, which is scheduled to enter showrooms in the last days of July or early August. The company invested US$ 1 billion for tooling in this model.
The Puebla facility is already capable to build 200 Tiguan SUVs per day, officials revealed.Â
