Omnilife Group to Build New Manufacturing Plant in Jalisco
Omnilife’s current plant is operating at 94% of its capacity; therefore, Grupo Omnilife-Chivas will build a new manufacturing plant in Jalisco, which will require an investment of more than US$130 million to begin operations within the next four years, according to Jesús Zataraín, CEO of Omnilife Manufacturera globally.
“We’re about to reach the plant’s full capacity… I estimate it will take no more than four years to build a plant like this one,” said the executive after touring the current plant located in the metropolitan municipality of El Salto, considered the largest dietary supplement manufacturing plant in Latin America.
Currently, 650 people work in three shifts at the El Salto manufacturing plant; however, with the gradual reduction in the workweek between now and 2030, the Group plans to hire 25 more people to staff its production lines.
Today, Mexico accounts for 60% of this company's market, followed by the United States, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Guatemala, Spain—which serves as a distribution center for the European Union—and Russia.
Despite the current macroeconomic conditions, the group expects to end the year with 6% sales growth, with its nutrition line posting the highest growth rate within its cosmetics portfolio.
