Hyundai Polytech to invest US$20 million in Zacatecas

ZACATECAS - Governor David Monreal Avila announced the signing of a letter of intent with the Korean company Hyundai Polytech for the Tier 1 automotive company to invest around US$20 million in the construction of a plant in Zacatecas, which would mean the generation of 300 new direct and indirect jobs.

The agreement is the result of the efforts that the President has made in South Korea, through virtual meetings held with businessmen, as well as with a delegation of his government in the Asian country.

Monreal Avila met remotely with Kwang Shik Kim, Chairman of the Board of Hyundai Polytech, to sign the letter of intent. It was detailed that the company will produce in Zacatecas plastic injection parts for suspensions, sensors, motors and electrical systems, to supply large automotive manufacturers such as KIA and Hyundai, among others.

For their part, the businessmen said they felt supported by the Government of Zacatecas and that the trust given by the President will help to make the investment of Korean capital a reality in the state.

Hyundai Polytech has 1,500 employees distributed in its plants in South Korea, the United States, China, India and Saltillo, Mexico.
