Audi Mexico to invest in Puebla
PUEBLA - Audi Mexico will invest one billion euros in its factory in the state of Puebla to start producing vehicles with e-tron technology, in other words, hybrids and electric vehicles.
During the announcement of this project, Tarek Mashhour, CEO of the carmaker, indicated that to achieve their goal they will start with the adjustments in its infrastructure and equipment in terms of electromobility.
"I sincerely hope that this investment package will consolidate Puebla as a development pole in electromobility. We will equip our facilities for the production of a car with e-tron technology. I publicly thank the government for always being our ally," he said.
He also called on the authorities to train Puebla's talent in electric mobility issues, such as the creation of software, new technologies and battery production, because only in this way will the state be at the forefront.
Regarding this statement, the governor of Puebla, Sergio Salomón Céspedes Peregrina, informed that the state will become one of the places with the highest economic development.
This is due to the fact that the investment will generate 500 new direct jobs at the plant and will provide growth opportunities for the different business partners, as well as for small and medium-sized companies.
"Puebla remains on the path of progress, because it has the conditions to realize business projects. Audi Mexico's announcement is proof that in the state there is certainty to detonate sustainable projects through electromobility and the creation of clean technologies," he said.
