FEMIA Launches a Self-diagnosis Platform
The Mexican Federation of the Aerospace Industry (FEMIA) has introduced a self-
diagnosis platform aimed at transforming how companies engage with the aerospace
sector. This tool helps identify areas of opportunity for businesses from transversal
sectors and for those already actively participating in the industry. With a focus on
increasing sectoral integration, the platform enables companies to evaluate their
strengths and weaknesses in key areas critical to the aerospace supply chain.
“This platform will allow us to link companies already in the country and to strengthen
the supply chain,” said Carlos Robles, president of FEMIA.
The self-diagnosis platform allows companies to assess their current position within the
aerospace value chain. By helping businesses identify gaps in compliance, technology,
and processes, FEMIA encourages greater participation in the aerospace sector,
especially from companies in related industries like electronics, metallurgy, and
engineering services. This self-assessment will guide firms in adapting to the specific
requirements of the aerospace market, opening doors to new opportunities and
partnerships.
In addition to helping companies understand their current capabilities, the platform
improves the matching process between suppliers and buyers. The aerospace industry
has stringent technological requirements, and this tool assists companies in identifying
and showcasing their competencies in line with what buyers need. By doing so, it
increases efficiency in supplier-buyer connections, allowing companies with specific
technological capabilities to reach qualified aerospace buyers more effectively.
FEMIA’s platform is part of a broader effort to encourage Mexico’s growth in the
aerospace industry. By fostering collaboration and integration between sectors, it
enhances the country's overall competitiveness in this high-value industry. Companies
completing the self-diagnosis can better understand the aerospace industry's
technological demands, facilitating faster entry into the market and supporting the
development of a more robust supply chain in Mexico.
