SK Tec Expands Operations in Irapuato

The manufacturing company SK Tec Mexicana, a subsidiary of Sankyo Kogyo Co., Ltd, inaugurated an expansion of its plant located in Irapuato, Guanajuato, to which it allocated almost US$20 million.
The Japanese-owned company began operations in the Bajío region in 2013 with an initial investment of US$5.5 million and currently employs 200 workers, 80 of whom were recruited for this new expansion.
The Tier 2 supplier is dedicated to stamping, welding, assembly, and plastic injection processes, producing parts for interior components such as doors, seats, and trunks.
Its customers include Aisin Mexicana, Imasen Mexico Technology, Y-tec Keylex Mexico, TS-tech, and TBA. In 2024, it achieved sales of US$13 million, including exports to the United States, according to information released at the ceremony.
The plant, located in the Marabis Industrial Park, has an annual production capacity of 12 million assembled parts and 70% of its supply chain is local.
