Chirey maintains its commitment to Mexico despite tariff increases

Despite the Mexican government's decision to increase import tariffs on vehicles from China — potentially raising them from 20% to 50% — Chinese automaker Chirey Motor México has reiterated its long-term commitment to the Mexican market.
In an official statement, the company emphasized it will continue offering vehicles equipped with cutting-edge technology, world-class safety features, and premium specifications. As part of its customer care strategy, Chirey will maintain a high-quality after-sales service, backed by warranties of up to 10 years or 1 million kilometers for engines.
Since entering the Mexican market over three years ago, Chirey — along with its sister brands OMODA and JAECOO — has invested significantly in building a nationwide dealership network, creating both direct and indirect employment, and implementing training programs for its workforce. The company has also been active in various social responsibility initiatives.
Chirey reaffirmed its vision to grow alongside Mexico and contribute to a safer, more sustainable mobility future, despite the challenges that higher tariffs may bring to the automotive industry.
