CLAUMET hosts the EV Business Hub Mexico

The Metropolitan Automotive Cluster (CLAUTMET) organized the EV Business Hub Mexico, held at the Ministry of Economy: a platform for coordinating the transition to electromobility in the country.

Elisa Crespo, executive president of CLAUTMET, emphasized that electromobility has shifted from being an expectation to becoming an active factor in business decision-making, as the sector is at a turning point where the transition to electric vehicles is not incremental but structural.

Mexico has established a globally significant manufacturing base; however, electrification is changing the rules of the game with the introduction of new components, platforms, and players. In this context, she noted that opportunities are emerging beyond assembly, such as the development of charging infrastructure, energy services, mobility solutions, and fleet electrification.

The president emphasized that the automotive industry accounts for approximately 3.5% of the national GDP and more than 30% of manufacturing exports, underscoring the importance of ensuring its competitiveness in the electrification process.
