Frialsa opens mega logistics center in Queretaro

The Mexican company Frialsa Frigorificos inaugurated the Puerta Queretaro Distribution Center: a complex specializing in comprehensive cold-chain logistics for perishable goods, representing an initial investment of over US$23 million and creating 450 direct jobs and more than 600 indirect jobs.

The company also confirmed a second phase of expansion for 2027 with an additional US$23 million, which will increase the complex’s capacity to nearly 40,000 storage slots.

The new logistics center incorporates technology focused on operational efficiency and sustainability, featuring automation systems, traceability, and precise temperature control for the handling of food and perishable goods.

The infrastructure also includes solar panels with a capacity of 700 kW and mechanisms to recover over 250,000 liters of rainwater—elements that form part of the company’s environmental strategy.

During the inauguration, the governor of Queretaro, Mauricio Kuri Gonzalez, noted that Frialsa’s expansion demonstrates business confidence in the state and highlighted the importance of connectivity and logistics infrastructure for industrial growth. The governor emphasized that Queretaro maintains competitive advantages related to security, legal certainty, talent development, and air and road connectivity.

Frialsa’s expansion also strengthens Queretaro’s position within industrial sectors linked to food, agribusiness, advanced manufacturing, and specialized distribution. The state maintains a strategic location within the Bajio region and connections to key industrial corridors across the country, factors that continue to drive new investments in logistics and refrigerated storage.
