Foreign investment surges 211% in Aguascalientes

Aguascalientes attracted US$342 million in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) during the first quarter of 2026, marking the state’s best start to the year in the past nine years. This result represented a 211.4% increase compared to the same period in 2025 and reinforces the state’s position as one of the most attractive destinations for productive investment in Mexico.

The manufacturing industry accounted for the largest share of the funds received, totaling US$272 million, equivalent to nearly 80% of the total attracted during the quarter; this sector recorded a 127% increase compared to the same period last year.

The state government highlighted that the influx of new investments not only contributes to industrial expansion but also promotes the creation of quality jobs, knowledge transfer, and the adoption of technologies that strengthen the productive capacity of companies operating in the state.

With this performance, Aguascalientes has solidified its position on the national investment map and confirmed the confidence of global companies in an economy that continues to expand its international reach and its presence in strategic sectors of advanced manufacturing.
