Nefab Opens a Plant in Nuevo León

Nefab has opened a 7,000 m² plant at Sabinal Industrial Park in Apodaca, Nuevo León, to begin manufacturing its ExPak line of foldable industrial packaging in Mexico for the first time. The facility aims to strengthen the local supply of packaging solutions for heavy and delicate equipment, serving industries such as automotive, electronics, and data centers.

The project is expected to create 100 jobs, primarily in operations, as well as in engineering and administration. The expansion will enhance the global provider of industrial packaging and logistics solutions' manufacturing capabilities in Mexico and strengthen its presence in the Monterrey metropolitan area.

Located near the Huinalá industrial corridor and Apodaca's airport area, the facility is equipped to meet the needs of manufacturers seeking to protect components, equipment, and other goods during storage and transportation.

The ExPak line consists of boxes made from plywood and galvanized steel profiles. Their foldable design allows them to be assembled without nails, simplifying the packaging, storage, and transportation of industrial products.

Domestic production of ExPak introduces a new industrial packaging option for manufacturers operating in Mexico. In the automotive sector, where components and equipment move throughout complex supply chains, these solutions help protect goods during storage and transit.

Local availability also allows Nefab to offer packaging solutions tailored to customers' specific requirements, rather than relying solely on supplies from this line at other locations. However, the company has not disclosed the plant's expected production volumes or delivery timelines.

Nefab's packaging designs are tested in laboratories accredited by the International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) to evaluate their performance and safety under shipping conditions.

The inauguration marks an expansion of Nefab's foldable packaging portfolio in Mexico, adding manufacturing capacity in a region with strong demand for logistics solutions supporting industrial production and export operations.
