Baja California launches the Metropolitan Aerospace Cluster

The visit to Baja California by Tizayuca Mayor Susana Araceli Angeles Quezada was instrumental in the creation of the Metropolitan Aerospace Cluster—the newest addition to the country’s aerospace ecosystem.

In addition to touring the facilities in Baja California and gaining a deeper understanding of the sector, the parties signed a collaboration agreement, which served to strengthen the relationship between them. In carrying out this initiative, Angeles Quezada had the support of Hidalgo Governor Julio Menchaca Salazar, who, since taking office in 2022, has driven the state’s growth in this industry.

The Metropolitan Aerospace Cluster was formed in 2023 by Hidalgo, Mexico City, and the State of Mexico. In February 2024, AIFA was designated as its headquarters, a decision based on the terminal’s potential for connectivity and growth.

Currently, the cluster comprises 35 companies and already exports to the United States, Spain, Peru, and Brazil, with plans to add Russia to the list.
