Guanajuato seeks new logistics route to Texas

Guanajuato is exploring new logistics routes to strengthen its exports to Texas—one of the states with the most dynamic and strategically important trade for international exchange.
With the goal of strengthening commercial, logistical, and institutional ties between Guanajuato and South Texas, COFOCE welcomed a delegation consisting of Jaime Escobar Jr., mayor of Roma, Texas; Alejandro Barrera, municipal administrator of Roma; Alfonso Ramirez, deputy administrator of Roma; Joel Peña, head of Commercial Relations for Roma; Baltazar Martinez Montemayor, mayor of Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon; and Felix Eduardo Rodriguez, a businessman from Leon, Guanajuato. During the meeting, they presented a strategic alternative for Mexican companies engaged in foreign trade.
The meeting highlighted the competitive advantages of the border port in Roma, Texas, as an option to strengthen the competitiveness of Guanajuato’s export companies. Among its key attributes are short wait times, streamlined operations, support from US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and backing from the Roma municipal government.
The meeting aligns with the vision of Governor Libia Dennise Garcia to create better conditions that allow Guanajuato companies to continue growing in international markets through more efficient, secure, and competitive logistics processes.
Having new options for moving goods across the border represents an opportunity to strengthen the state’s exports, increase the competitiveness of businesses, and contribute to job creation and the well-being of Guanajuato families.
