New BMW 3 Series Enters Final Development Phase

The next-generation BMW 3 Series with an internal combustion engine has entered its final development phase ahead of series production. The eighth-generation sedan will feature four- and six-cylinder engines with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology.

Testing at BMW’s Miramas facility in southern France focused on driving dynamics, following extensive winter and Nürburgring testing. The new model features an updated chassis, wider tracks, a longer wheelbase, and advanced digital driving systems.

The range-topping M350 xDrive will be the only six-cylinder version, combining 326 kW (443 hp) with an eight-speed Steptronic transmission and all-wheel drive. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and will introduce the new Drift Moment feature in 2027.
