Mexican ports displaced 16.3% more vehicles in January

MEXICO — Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Transportes (SCT) reported that last January Mexican ports displaced 16.3% more automotive vehicles totaling 143,979 units, based on 123,826 of the same month of 2018.
Statistics of Coordinación General de Puertos y Marina Mercante of the SCT detailed that the ports of the Gulf of Mexico experimented the greater dynamism with the handling of 97,114 vehicles, 18.5% more than the 81,978 of the same month during last year.
In Veracruz, the one with the biggest displacement in the country, was an increase of 9.1% with 72,001 vehicles operated, compared to 65,971 in January 2018; while in Altamira 14,528 were displaced, an increase of 9.5% against 13,667 previously.
On the other hand, in the ports of the Pacific, the movement of 46,865 vehicles was reached, which represents an increase of 12% compared to the 41,848 of January of last year, according to the report of the SCT. In said littoral, Lázaro Cárdenas is positioned as the largest operation with 34,763 units and a 2.3% increase compared to 33,976 in January 2018; while Mazatlan doubled its movement reaching 8,100 units.
