Guanajuato outlines its 2026–2028 agenda

The Guanajuato Ministry of Economy participated in the forum “Trends and Outlook for the Chemical Industry in the State of Guanajuato,” organized by La Salle Bajio University, where priorities and lines of action were defined to guide the development of this strategic industry during the 2026–2028 period.

During the forum, conclusions were presented that will enable the sector to establish its work agenda based on an analysis of the main challenges and opportunities in a dynamic and highly competitive global environment.

The chemical industry in Guanajuato has established itself as a strategic sector, contributing 6.1% of the state’s GDP, generating more than 38,100 jobs across its value chain, and comprising more than 1,600 businesses; it also recorded exports totaling US$2.641 billion.

This sector has a cross-cutting impact on various industries such as automotive, agri-food, tanning, pharmaceuticals, and personal care, positioning it as a key component for the competitiveness of the state’s production chains.

The Undersecretary for MSME Development emphasized the importance of moving toward a more innovative and sustainable industry that is integrated into global value chains, strengthening the links between businesses, academia, and government.

The Government of the People, through the SDES, reaffirms its commitment to working in coordination with the productive sectors to continue positioning the various economic sectors, strengthening the production chain, and boosting local supplier companies with new business opportunities, thereby generating economic growth with greater benefits for the people of Guanajuato.
