HiRef to invest over US$10.8 million in Hidalgo

The Italian company HiRef, which specializes in precision cooling solutions, has announced an investment of more than US$10.8 million to build its first manufacturing plant in Mexico and the Americas, located in the Plata Industrial Park in Villa de Tezontepec, Hidalgo.

The project has an initial floor area of more than 4,000 m² and is part of the company's international expansion strategy to strengthen its presence in North America and Latin America in response to growing demand for technology infrastructure.

The new facility will have three flexible production lines for manufacturing specialized cooling equipment for data centers, artificial intelligence, cloud services, telecommunications, and critical infrastructure.

Two product lines will focus on compact precision cooling systems, rack cooling, and chilled water distribution units (CDUs), while the third will enable the manufacture of higher-capacity equipment, such as chillers and fan wall systems.

According to the company, local manufacturing will reduce delivery times by up to 50% for certain equipment, thereby improving its ability to respond to technology projects in the regional market.

Alejandra Castellanos García, director of HiRef Mexico and LATAM, emphasized the importance of developing solutions that ensure the growth of digital infrastructure through the efficient use of resources.

Meanwhile, Alberto Salmistraro, CEO of HiRef S.p.A. emphasized the strategic value of the investment in expanding the company's presence in the Americas.

The plant is scheduled to begin operations in late 2027 and early 2028, once the construction and installation of the production equipment are complete.

With this investment, Hidalgo is strengthening its presence in the digital infrastructure supply chain by integrating specialized manufacturing to meet the cooling and energy efficiency needs of data centers.
