Queretaro companies seek to supply Tesla
QUERETARO, QRO - At least 21 micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the state are seeking to become indirect suppliers of the plant that Tesla will establish in Nuevo Leon, explained the president of the Association of Industrial MSMEs of Queretaro (Amiqro), José Luis Cámara Gil.
At the moment, these companies received requests for quotations, anticipating to join this supply chain with components and services that they would supply to those companies that will directly supply Tesla.
In view of these requirements, he said, the association is supporting MSMEs to make projections and measurements of production capacities to join the supply chain that the U.S.-based company will demand.

"Although Tesla has not yet started operations, we have already begun to collaborate with 20 companies, and one more has joined us, with aspects of preparation for next year," Cámara Gil said.
The 21 MSMEs involved are mainly engaged in plastic injection molding, the metal-mechanical sector, stamping, springs, packaging, furniture for the installation of production lines, as well as training and marketing services, among others.
