Volvo wants to attract more Mexican providers

Volvo wants to add more Mexican providers to its production chain in North America, once the NAFTA renegotiation goes on more steady ground. Håkan Samuelsson, CEO of the Firm worldwide, underscored that they are looking to gain more participation in the U.S. luxury vehicle segment, but the plan is to do so with more content regional and not from other continents. Although China and the U.S. are very important countries and the firm aims at improving its position in the luxury market with their North Carolina plant, the idea is to increase the regional content and Mexico does have a large base of providers, said Mr. Samuelsson.
