During November Mexico exported 245,330 light vehicles, which represents a 9.6% increase in relation to exports from the same month of 2015, informed the Mexican Association of the Automotive Industry (AMIA).
The spokesperson for the organization added that 2,551,623 units were shipped for export from January to November 2016, which signifies a 0.02% less than the units exported in the same period of the prior year.
The main regional destination for Mexican exports is made up by the NAFTA countries, which represent 86% of total exports. Moreover, there was a surplus commercial balance for the automotive industry from January to September 2016, with a record of US$45.79 billion, with a 4.6% decrease compared to the balance form the same period of last year.
Despite the negative shift at this time of the year, the automotive industry is maintaining itself as an important generator of cash inflow and a propeller for the county's economy, concludes the AMIA report.
