German Embassy representatives visit the Audi Mexico plant
PUEBLA – The visit was attended by Ronald Münch, Head of the Department of Economic and Global Affairs of the German Embassy in Mexico and Ms. Sarah Basic, Economic Counselor of the German Embassy in Mexico, as part of their activities to promote joint work between the two countries.
“The Audi plant in Mexico is a strong example of the great integration that exists between German and Mexican culture. It is a plant with social and sustainability standards of a very high level,” Said Ronald Münch, Head of the Department of Economic and Global Affairs of the German Embassy in Mexico.
On the other hand, Tarek Mashhour, CEO of Audi Mexico, said that Audi's arrival in Mexico eight years ago strengthened the bilateral relationship between Mexico and Germany.
"We will continue to participate closely in the transformation that the automotive industry is undergoing in order to continue moving forward towards the future of Audi Mexico," said Mashhour.
It is worth mentioning that the representatives of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Mexico were surprised by the factory's environmental protection measures, social commitment and development plans in the region.
Audi Mexico received a significant initial investment for the start-up of the factory, and currently provides direct employment to more than 5,200 employees, in addition to an important value chain that totals more than 20,000 indirect jobs.
