Baja California attracts German investment

BAJA CALIFORNIA - The Secretariat of Economy and Innovation of Baja California (SEI) announced that it was able to attract investments from German companies in the state, after a trade mission carried out by Ireland and Germany.
According to the SEI, these investments were made through the ProBaja Trade & Investment alliance.
Rodolfo Andrade Pelayo, Undersecretary of Investment Management, pointed out that the promotion tour is in line with the route of maintaining an active presence with the main investment source countries.
In addition to attending “Electrónica”, the trade fair for advanced technology and semiconductors to learn about trends in advanced technology and semiconductors worldwide, there was the announcement of the investment of Wohlrab, a leader in special finishes for the medical industry, and the visit of a German delegation to the region.
The interest of Toolcraft, leaders in the design of machinery and micro-machining for the aerospace and semiconductor industries, in investing in the state was also highlighted.
Also highlighted was the visit of a German delegation to Baja California within the framework of “Semicon West 2025” to be held next October in Phoenix, Arizona, and the organization of a virtual one-on-one meeting with suppliers of anchor companies in the state.
As part of the commercial agenda, the companies Bayern Innovativ, dedicated to the design of high-tech fairs, and COTO Technologies, located in Mexicali and specialists in the manufacture of reed switches and magnetic field sensors, were visited.
In addition to the commercial meeting with the director of the Bavaria Aerospace Cluster, Pauline Medori, to whom market opportunities and talent in Baja California were presented.
The ProBaja alliance integrated by the promotion agencies of the municipalities of Tijuana, Tecate, Ensenada and Mexicali, was represented by Lorelei Gudiño, coordinator of the Ensenada Economic Promotion Commission (Ensenada EDC), Alma López, coordinator of Mexicali Economic Promotion, (Mexicali EDC), representatives of Grupo Prodensa, Grupo PIMSA, and Ana Paula Corona, director of Investment Promotion of the SEI.
“Electronica” is the most important advanced electronics trade show in the world, where more than 2 thousand nanotechnology companies, electronics manufacturing, components for artificial intelligence, power supplies, semiconductors, services and components for its supply chain, from 51 countries and more than 70 thousand visitors participate. Among them, the participation of multinational companies with operations established in Baja California such as Bosch, Vishay, Skyworks, Infineon, Samsung, Amphenol, among others.
