Volkswagen extends conservation project in Guanajuato

Volkswagen Mexico announced the expansion of its partnership with the Guanajuato State Secretariat of Water and the Environment (SAMA), strengthening conservation projects in the Cuenca de la Esperanza, Cuenca de la Soledad, and Sierra de Lobos Protected Natural Areas.

As a result, the project has gradually expanded over the years to cover 1,000 hectares of the state’s Protected Natural Areas, establishing itself as one of the most significant ecological restoration initiatives in the region.

Among the project’s achievements to date are the capture of approximately 70,000 tons of CO2 and the annual recharge of nearly 2.5 million cubic meters of water, directly contributing to the restoration and conservation of ecosystems and to water availability in the area.

Through projects like this, Volkswagen is advancing its environmental strategy, which integrates operational efficiency, collaboration, and conservation, contributing to Mexico’s sustainable development and the protection of its natural resources.
