Querétaro Opens a New Electrical Substation

The Querétaro state government has inaugurated the RLX Electrical Substation in Corregidora, representing an investment of approximately US$100 million. The facility has a dedicated transformer bank with a capacity exceeding 1,000 MVA, according to the state government.

During the event, Marco Antonio del Prete Tercero, head of the Secretariat of Sustainable Development (Sedesu), noted that the agency has grown and evolved alongside the industry, and as a result, electricity needs have increased due to the automation of industrial processes, the decarbonization policy, and the state’s growth as the country’s leading data center hub.

Juan Bautista Guichard Cortina, CEO of INVEX Controladora, emphasized that the support provided by the state and municipal governments in the procedures to finalize the project has been of great help, enabling the project to reach the highest national standard.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Corregidora, Josue David Gueerrero Trapala, has noted that infrastructure helps attract new projects and strengthens the government’s position, with the aim of streamlining procedures to boost the competitiveness of businesses and the state’s economy.
