Production of Computers and Peripheral Equipment Rises 2.3% in June

The total value of production in the manufacturing of computers and peripheral equipment amounted to US$124 million (at current prices) in June of this year, representing a year-over-year increase of 2.3%, according to the Monthly Manufacturing Industry Survey (EMIM9) conducted by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).

This marks the first positive trend in this sector to date, following five consecutive months of declines.

In the first half of the year, both the value of production and sales totaled US$714 million each.

On the other hand, there have also been changes in the workforce, as the total number of employees in the computer and peripheral equipment manufacturing sector reached 60,851 in June—a 7.5% increase compared to the same month in 2025—marking the highest growth rate in the first half of the year.

Between January and June 2026, the subsector added 2,062 employees, marking a 3.5% increase over the period.

As for plant capacity utilization, it stood at 96.7% in June, the highest level since January, when it reached 98.1%.

The figures are reported in current prices, which reflects the impact of price changes, according to INEGI, based on preliminary data from August 2025 and revised figures for January through July of that year.
