GWM Reaches 40,000 Vehicle Sales in Mexico

GWM is celebrating its third anniversary in Mexico by delivering its 40,000th vehicle sold in the country. The milestone vehicle, a GWM ORA 5 Electric, was handed over to its new owners in Mexico City.

During this period, GWM has evolved from a newcomer in the Mexican market into an established brand offering vehicles designed to meet drivers’ needs through a combination of design, technology, and customer support.

“Three years ago, we arrived in Mexico with a promise. Today, with 40,000 vehicles in the hands of our customers, we are fulfilling that promise with more models, an increasingly accessible network, and the support that those who chose us deserve. We are here to stay,” said Pedro Albarrán, Vice President and General Manager of GWM Mexico.

Launched in Mexico in June 2026, the GWM ORA 5 is an urban SUV available with three powertrain options: Premium Gasoline, Luxury Hybrid, and Luxury Electric. This lineup allows customers to choose the option that best suits their lifestyles without compromising on design or features.

The all-electric version features a 201-hp motor and a 58.33-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, offering a range of up to 435 km under the WLTC cycle or 520 km under the NEDC. This range can accommodate several days of city driving on a single charge. The vehicle supports fast charging from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes and features vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology, allowing it to power external devices.

Its Natural Aesthetic design is complemented by a panoramic glass roof, a 14.6-inch touchscreen, ambient modes such as “Rest” and “Camping,” and the My GWM app, which enables users to schedule charging, adjust cabin temperature, and start the vehicle remotely.

As part of its anniversary celebrations, GWM reaffirmed its commitment to the Mexican market and announced plans to expand its dealer network to 60 locations by 2027. In collaboration with its business partners, the company plans to prioritize states where it does not yet have a dealership, strengthening its presence in strategic markets and expanding its nationwide coverage.
