Austrian group Voestalpine inaugurates US$ 4 million plant in Zacatecas

Voestalpine Rotec Summo, a subsidiary of Austrian group Voestalpine dedicated to the manufacture of tubular components and assemblies for the automotive industry, inaugurated a manufacturing plant in the municipality of Morelos, Zacatecas, Central Mexico, where the company invested US$ 4 million to set up operations.
Located in the Aeropuerto industrial park, the 3,000 square-meter facility houses five highly automated machines for cutting and metal forming processes. The company recruited 40 workers for this operation.
The plant produces high precision tubular cuts which it provides to Yulchon, a Korean company that produces parts for KIA, Nissan, Hyundai, Mazda, Toyota and Honda, among others.
Peter Schwab, CEO of the Metal Forming division of Voestalpine and member of the management board attended the event, where he took the opportunity to thank the state authorities for the favorable conditions to operate in Zacatecas.
Schwab added that Voestalpine has invested US$ 1.2 billion at 13 production facilities in Mexico that employ around 565 workers.
