Detroit Reman strengthens Daimler Truck’s circular economy

At the Detroit Reman plant in Toluca, the company reached the milestone of remanufacturing its 10,000th engine, cementing its role as a strategic pillar within Daimler Truck’s circular economy in North America.

Since its opening, the plant has focused its processes on the recovery and remanufacturing of engines and parts for freight transport, offering parts with performance equivalent to new components, produced under certified standards and backed by a manufacturer’s warranty.

Detroit Reman Toluca is part of a North American cluster of five remanufacturing plants and operates under ISO 9001:2018 and ISO 14001:2018 certifications, enabling it to serve markets in Mexico, the United States, Canada, and Latin America.

The operation is supported by 400 employees and features inclusion initiatives that integrate women and people with disabilities into specialized industrial processes.

In an environment where operational efficiency and sustainability are increasingly important, remanufacturing is establishing itself as a strategic solution for freight transport by combining cost savings, availability, and reduced environmental impact.
