Team to support the aerospace sector is created

QUERETARO - The Ministry of Economy (SE), at the request of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, developed a whole support team for the aeronautical and aerospace industry, due to the growth and generation of jobs that the industry has, said the head of this agency, Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón.

In an interview with the media at the end of the inauguration of the expansion of Safran Mexico's engine factory in this city, he said that an ecosystem has been created that has been growing, which includes many companies.

He indicated that in the coming years the results of this team that has been formed will be seen and there will be a directory of all Mexican and foreign companies established in the country, in order to seek to encourage the sector. In addition, drone companies will be included, as well as those certified for satellite parts and space launchers.

Ebrard Casaubón stated that the country will seek to create incentives, links with higher education institutions, strengthening of Mexican companies; at the same time, the certification of a sport aircraft for 2025 -El Halcón 2- is expected.

During the inauguration ceremony, Marcial Suárez, CEO of Safran Mexico, commented that this new plant will be used for the final assembly of the Leap 1A engine for Airbus 320Neo aircraft.

He indicated that this decision made by the Safran group is based on trust, which has been permanently demonstrated throughout the 15 years since the beginning of its operations in the country.

Alejandro Cardona, president of Safran Mexico, commented that the dream began 18 years ago and now people should know that “when they take to the skies, Safran embraces them, takes care of their safety, dreams and the magic of flying”.

For her part, Delphine Borione, French Ambassador to Mexico, said that France is the leading employer of foreigners in the aviation sector.
