Schneider Electric Invests US$192 Million in Querétaro

Schneider Electric has inaugurated its Querétaro Campus, an industrial complex representing an investment of more than US$192 million. The project aims to expand the company’s manufacturing capacity to meet growing demand for electrical distribution solutions and critical energy infrastructure across North America.

The complex comprises approximately 115,000 m² of production space across three plants. Two are already operational, while construction of the third is expected to begin soon. During the inauguration ceremony, Kelly Becker, president of North American Operations at Schneider Electric, said the three facilities will collectively represent approximately 300,000 m² of industrial infrastructure.

The expansion responds to growing demand for electrification, automation, and digitization, as well as the development of data centers and network infrastructure. From its Querétaro operations, the company manufactures equipment and solutions for customers in Mexico, the United States, and Canada, in addition to providing specialized, custom-engineered solutions.

Luis D’Acosta, president and CEO of Schneider Electric Mexico and Central America, said the investment reflects the company’s long-term confidence in Mexico.

The expansion is expected to boost employment and strengthen the regional supply chain. Schneider Electric anticipates creating more than 4,000 direct jobs by the end of 2027, along with nearly 8,000 indirect jobs.

The company also expects the project to generate additional opportunities for local suppliers and strengthen the region’s engineering, manufacturing, and technical capabilities.

Becker noted that the campus is intended to bring Schneider Electric’s capabilities closer to its customers, reinforce local supply chains, and enhance operational resilience amid rapid technological change.
